It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.

'Fall down seven times, stand up eight'

"show me, show me, show me how you do that trick,
the one that makes me scream,” she said
"the one that makes me laugh," she said
threw her arms around my neck
show me how you do it
and i promise you, i promise that
i’ll run away with you
i’ll run away with you

One perfect shot: The Twilight Zone, S01E16: “The Hitch-Hiker.”
While driving cross country alone, Nan Adams (played by the lovely Inger Stevens) is stalked by a seemingly ever-present hitch-hiker. It’s a trope that many of us are used to, but it’s quite scary: a young woman on her own, unable to escape a creepy man who seemingly wants to harm her.
In the shot above, he invades her personal space by leaning into her car with his outstretched hand and eerie grin. Nan, obviously frightened, doesn’t want to look but can’t ignore him, either. It’s an unsettling scene.
I’m posting one definitive shot from each episode of The Twilight Zone, once per day.
